From HD to 8K: What the Numbers Actually Mean
1080p (Full HD) is 1920×1080 logical pixels for 16:9; 4K UHD is 3840×2160—four times the pixel count of 1080p. 8K doubles each axis again to 7680×4320. Refresh Rate and Motion: Hz, “Effective,” and Frames
Native panel refresh (60 Hz, 120 Hz, 144 Hz) caps how many unique frames can be shown per second. Motion interpolation (often called the “soap opera effect”) inserts intermediate frames for film-based content; some viewers dislike it.
